A new beginning July 4th, 2009
It’s been a long time coming. I’ve even tweeted about it a few times. But it’s finally here. My new personal blog. Its predecessor was built on a system I constructed myself back in 2007—which is old in Web years. I started with good intentions of continuing to develop it and adding the features it needed. However as I grew busier and busier with Centation I just couldn’t spare the time.
In the end I decided to use WordPress. The fact that there are many talented people developing the application—adding cool features and fixing pesky bugs was positively too appetising for me to resist and turn down.
The design is a work in progress, I just wanted a minimalist design which I could tinker with, adding little bits of detail as I go. After all, it’s the content that is the important aspect of this site, not the look. Since I’m using a couple of third party tools I think it is only fair that I give them a little bit of lovin’
- WordPress
- Askimet
- Gunion Contact Form (I might add a heavily modified version)
- Get Recent Comments
- WP-Syntax
- 960 Grid System

Love the new look Chris. I have always had a soft spot for 3 column designs.
Gutted that you don’t have a date and time though. Went to check the post date on the feed, using the link near the navigation and get linked to localhost? Why do I always break sites? No, seriously I joke.
Hope all is well. Feel free to send me an email sometime if you get a spare moment. They seem quite rare these days.
